Hall of Fame
The Thornton Township High School Hall of Fame recognizes and honors former TTHS students and faculty based on specific criteria. The criteria, as well as forms for nominating alums and faculty usually are available several months prior to the event.
Note: The 2016 Hall of Fame event has been cancelled.
The Thornton Township High School Hall of Fame is dedicated to honoring distinguished alumni, staff and faculty who have made significant contributions to the history, culture, and future of Thornton High School.
The following are the criteria for the nomination and the selection of individuals.
Self-nominations will not be considered a valid form of nomination.
Alumni must have been graduated from TTHS at least ten years before being eligible for consideration for the Hall of Fame. This honor is awarded on the basis of outstanding generosity and service to TTHS; outstanding participation in community and civic affairs; and notable achievement in one’s field of endeavor.
Faculty and staff are those members who have demonstrated commitment and service to TTHS students. They have exhibited outstanding leadership as educators through instruction, support, encouragement, and preparation of TTHS students to succeed in adulthood.
To insure the fullest consideration for your Hall of Fame nominee, please provide all the requested information on the nomination form. If you need to provide additional information, please attach additional sheets to the nomination form.
Nominations will be judged on these criteria:
- Thoroughness of application.
- Quality of supporting documentation.
- Nominee’s academic accomplishments post-TTHS.
- Nominee’s professional accomplishments post-TTHS.
- Nominee’s community service accomplishments Post-TTHS.
- Level and kinds of support nominee has shown TTHS.
- Nominee’s character and fitness to be in the Hall of Fame.
